亚马逊云计算部门AWS首席执行官安迪·杰希（Andy Jassy）在活动中推出了这些新产品。杰希在强调亚马逊能够向客户提供广泛和定制服务的同时，取笑竞争对手甲骨文，称其为云伪装者。此次活动吸引了3.2万各领域的人士参加，其中包括金融服务、医疗、游戏和希望对云计算有更多了解的行业。亚马逊以行业龙头的姿态向与会者展示了最新的技术。市场调研公司Gartner预计，今年公共云指出预计将增长近17%，达到2040亿美元。

随着越来越多的企业从使用自有服务器转向租赁远程托管计算力和数据存储空间，亚马逊正试图保持对竞争对手微软、谷歌(微博)、IBM和甲骨文的领先优势。Netflix当前就是AWS服务的主要客户之一。本周二，信用卡发行商Capital One Financial Corp宣布将把更多的数据转移至亚马逊，凸显了金融服务领域对使用云计算服务的兴趣正变得越来越浓厚。

与对手的口水战

今年9月甲骨文董事会主席拉里·埃里森（Larry Ellison）在OpenWorld主题演讲中推出新云产品，并宣称“亚马逊的领先优势已经终结”之后，俩家公司之间的口水战便开始不断升温。

杰希在10月份接受BI采访时称：“我不认为有人们会认同埃里森有关亚马逊云服务言论的客观性”。杰希称埃里森对亚马逊评论是“技术卫道士”的伎俩，一个云计算领域的后来者，用户也不多，还妄图树立标杆？就连埃里森上个月演讲中提供的数据也是人为做的。埃里森在演说中称，甲骨文的云服务要比亚马逊AWS快24倍，技术上比亚马逊先进20年。他还说，AWS是个封闭的系统，用户最终会被迫终生使用它。

做为对埃里森数据的回应，杰希也拿出了一些分析机构的数据。比如，美国咨询公司Gartner去年的魔力象限（Magic Quadrant）报告指出，亚马逊云服务的规模是位列其后的其它14个公司合起来的10倍，在该领域把其它竞争者不知道要甩过了多少条街。德意志银行也在最近的一份分析报告中称：甲骨文声称其下一代服务产品要比竞争对手AWS便宜很多，但该投行并不认为甲骨文会对亚马逊形成实质意义的挑战。

市场调研公司IDC软件领域分析师艾尔·西瓦（Al Hilwa）表示，在亚马逊周三宣布其数据库工具Aurora能够与开源数据库兼容之后，竞争将变得更加激烈。另外一家市场调研公司Synergy Research Group指出，今年第三季度，亚马逊占据了云计算子领域架构即服务（infrastructure as a service）市场45%的份额。Synergy Research Group认为，亚马逊在该领域的营收是三家最大竞争对手合计营收的两倍以上。

全新人工智能平台

亚马逊周三推出的全新人工智能平台，带有许多该公司多年来自主开发的机器学习技术。虽然亚马逊目前只推出了三款不同的工具，但随着时间的推移将会推出更多的工具。杰希表示，虽然亚马逊很少谈到机器学习，但公司在该领域有着丰富的经验。他说：“公司进行了大量的人工智能研究，我们有数千人专门从事该技术的开发工作。”

亚马逊周三推出的图形识别服务“Rekognition”类似于谷歌、微软及其他一些公司已推出的服务，能够识别物体和地点。亚马逊强调，该公司的系统特别睿智，能够识别图像中狗的品种。杰希表示，该项服务非常划算，但并未就此公布价格。

“Polly”能把文本以语音形式输出的程序。亚马逊解释说，“设计Polly的目的，是为了处理许多语音生成方面的挑战。”举例来说，“考虑单词‘live’（居住、直播）在‘我在西雅图生活’（I live in Seattle）和‘来自纽约的现场直播’（Live from New York）中有着不同的发音。Polly知道这对同形异义词拼写相同，但发音完全不同。”

亚马逊还推出了名为“Lex”的新服务。Lex把亚马逊语音助手Alexa开放给开发者。它能够理解语音输入，方便开发者打造基于语音问答的应用。亚马逊表示，“用户可以使用Lex开发聊天机器人和其它支持用户参与的网页和移动应用。用户开发的机器人能够提供信息，支持应用，简化工作活动，或者为机器人、无人机和玩具提供控制机制。”
