日本的一项新研究发现，患有慢性疲劳综合征的儿童大脑存在“低效工作”状态，这有可能是导致疲劳感强的原因之一。新成果有助于研究此类疾病的发病机制并开发有效疗法。

日本理化学研究所的研究人员与大阪市立大学等机构同行合作，让13名健康儿童和15名患有慢性疲劳综合征的儿童阅读同一篇日语文章，然后利用功能性磁共振成像技术观察他们的大脑活动。结果发现，健康的儿童在阅读时，主要是负责处理语言的额叶左侧发挥作用，但患有慢性疲劳综合征的儿童不仅额叶左侧在工作，其额叶右侧等部分也非常活跃。

研究小组认为，这显示慢性疲劳综合征患者的脑活动处于非常低效的状态，多余的神经活动可能成为一种负担，导致疲劳感增强。下一步他们将研究消除这种多余脑活动的手段，探索慢性疲劳综合征的有效疗法。
